FEC to hear submissions on tax bill next month

Parliament's Finance and Expenditure Committee will hear oral submissions on the Taxation (Annual Rates, Taxpayer Assessment and Miscellaneous Provisions) Bill in three centres next month. Hearings will include evidence on proposed changes relating to the pre-1999 application of GST to certain services contracted for outside New Zealand. For details see FEC press release.

Finance and Expenditure Committee to hear submissions on proposed GST changes

The Finance and Expenditure Committee will hear evidence on proposed changes to the GST treatment of non-residents. "Submissions on the GST provisions will be heard as the committee hears evidence on the Taxation (Annual Rates, Taxpayer Assessment and Miscellaneous Provisions) Bill," announced Mark Peck MP, the Chairperson of the Finance and Expenditure Committee. The committee will be hearing evidence in Christchurch on 17 July 2001, Wellington on 18 July 2001, and Auckland on 19 July 2001. Those who have made submissions will be contacted within the next week to schedule times to be heard.
