Student loan bill reported back

The Education and Science Committee has reported back to Parliament on the Student Loan Scheme Amendment Bill (No 2). Introduced in November, the bill proposes new rules for borrowers who are overseas and simplifies the administration of the loan scheme rules. Changes recommended by the committee include amendments to ensure that the care and management provisions in the Tax Administration Act 1994 apply to student loan interest.
