Child support bill reported back

Parliament's Social Services Committee has reported on the Child Support Amendment Bill, recommending no major changes to the proposed legislation. Introduced in August 2005, the bill allows a partial write-off of late payment penalties as an incentive for defaulters to begin making regular payments. It also gives Inland Revenue the powers to initiate administrative reviews of liable parents' financial affairs. For more information see the bill as reported back to Parliament and the officials' report on submissions.
