Relationships (Statutory References) Bill

The bill providing for neutral laws on relationships - whether marriages, de facto relationships or civil unions - is expected to have its first reading in Parliament today. The Relationships (Statutory References) Bill, introduced in tandem with the Civil Union Bill, amends over 1,000 provisions across more than 100 separate statutes - including the Income Tax Act 2004, the Tax Administration Act 1994 and Goods and Services Tax Act 1985.
