Bills to be carried over
Two taxation bills are amongst the 94 bills and other House business that are to be carried over to the new Parliament when the present Parliament dissolves today. The Taxation (Relief, Refunds and Miscellaneous Provisions) Bill, introduced in December, awaits its second reading. The closing date for submissions on the Taxation (Annual Rates, Maori Organisations, Taxpayer Compliance and Miscellaneous Provisions) Bill, introduced in May, remains 28 June. Consequential amendments to tax legislation are contained in a number of other bills to be carried over, including the Hop Industry Restructuring Bill, Racing Bill and Responsible Gambling Bill.
