Discussion document submission deadline near

31 August is the closing date for submissions on proposals in two Government discussion documents released in June. "GST and imported services" proposes to charge GST, by means of a reverse charge mechanism, on imports of services by registered persons making non-taxable supplies. "Tax and charities" contains proposals relating to tax issues that affect charities, including tax rebates for donations, GST as it affects non-profit bodies, and accountability.
