May bill legislation passed

Parliament today passed legislation introduced in May in the Taxation (Annual Rates, GST and Miscellaneous Provisions) Bill. At the committee stage the bill was split into three: the Taxation (GST and Miscellaneous Provisions) Bill, the Taxation (Annual Rates of Income Tax 2000-2001) Bill and the Personal Property Security Amendment Bill. Royal assent is expected early next week.
