A rare and challenging opportunity has become available for an individual to join the Ministerial Services team within Relationship Management Group (RMG) as a Team Leader. RMG is committed to providing resolution to issues from dissatisfied customers, directed to the Office of the Commissioner, the Minister of Revenue, or the Office of the Ombudsmen.
Being able to fulfil the leadership expectations of an Inland Revenue leader is a requirement, as is the ability to demonstrate a high degree of organisational and political awareness. This role is critical in ensuring that relationships between the offices of the Minister of Revenue and the Commissioner of Inland Revenue are maintained, and that key agreements and objectives are achieved.
RMG has a mandate to create a framework to influence and support a culture of organisational learning across Inland Revenue and to champion the Charter. You will contribute to this by identifying areas of learning from the work undertaken by your team, and escalating these as required, improving the efficiency and effectiveness of RMG, and the wider organisation.
We are seeking a self-motivated individual who has courage, embraces change and can cultivate an environment where people enjoy their work and gain satisfaction from what they do.
You will be required to undertake the following responsibilities:
- Leading and supporting a team of six professionals ensuring that the responses to official correspondence are timely and of a high quality.
- Establishing and maintaining effective relationships with key internal and external stakeholders.
- As a member of RMG's management team you will contribute to developing and delivering the group's vision and business strategies. This will involve identifying business risks and opportunities, and supporting or challenging your colleagues' decisions and proposals.
The ability to make well-reasoned decisions and work to tight timeframes will be a necessity along with the following:
- Highly developed communication skills.
- People management and leadership skills.
- An ability to see the 'big picture'.
This is an opportunity to join and contribute to a group focused on learning and improvement. If this sounds like you please send your completed application form and self-assessment, along with your CV to Lauren.murray@ird.govt.nz quoting vacancy SS326.
Inland Revenue is an Equal Opportunities Employer.
Applications close on Tuesday, 29 July 2008.
